0:20

Speaker B So settle in and let's talk turf.

0:23

Speaker A Welcome to Turf Talk. Let's get to. Get today's conversation started. Hey, everyone. Welcome to Turf Talk, our very first episode here. My name is Eric Jones, better known as the Turf Teacher, and I'm here with my lovely bride.

0:39

Speaker B Jennifer Jones, the turfette.

0:41

Speaker A And so we are going to have a blast with this Turf Talk thing. I just love it. We have been anticipating this for weeks, if not

0:50

Speaker B Come on.

0:50

Speaker A months,

0:50

Speaker B Come on.

0:51

Speaker A months.

0:51

Speaker B Months.

0:52

Speaker A And it's just been crazy and hectic. Getting it off the ground, but here we are. We are launching episode one today, and it's awesome.

1:02

Speaker B A lot of heart, a lot of planning, a lot of time, a

1:06

Speaker A Hard work.

1:07

Speaker B lot of creation, editing. We've been in the mire and the muck together.

1:14

Speaker A That we have, that we have. And so a lot of you guys already know who we are. You know, like I said, I'm Eric Jones, a turf teacher, and Jennifer, my wife, better known as the turf vet. We are educators. We have been doing this for, what, two years now together? Together. Together. So we love the green industry. We both grew up in the green industry. industry. I grew up on a 60 acre landscape nursery and landscape contracting business. So I was forced into the green industry as a young man, but absolutely loved it. And you started out in agriculture, if I'm not mistaken.

1:54

Speaker B I did. I grew up on a 300 acre dairy farm. Well, wasn't quite 300, but we'll say 300. but

2:01

Speaker C it's

2:01

Speaker B yeah

2:02

Speaker C close enough that

2:03

Speaker B it was it was over 260 acres of farmland that I grew up on that was all ours don't

2:10

Speaker C was all yours you

2:10

Speaker B really know how rich you are until you look back it's like wow we we

2:14

Speaker C had it yeah

2:15

Speaker B had it all I grew up in a single wide trailer on a dairy farm didn't know what I didn't have I really didn't

2:22

Speaker C well in there a song by justin moore um you didn't know how rich you were or it's I don't have to look that up and say, but we didn't have much, but we didn't have much, but we had it all.

2:35

Speaker B Yeah. And that's exactly how I grew up. You know, name brand clothes was not on the radar. I was just raring and ready to live the day every day I woke up because my life was exciting on the dairy farm.

2:48

Speaker C That's true.

2:48

Speaker B I enjoyed it.

2:49

Speaker C Well.

2:49

Speaker B I had wonderful grandparents that taught. may work ethic.

2:54

Speaker A My parents taught me work ethic and, you know, there's something about the circle of life and learning hard work and learning, you know, the value of what you do and seeing the rewards that come from the work of your own hands. So I enjoyed, I enjoyed, it was hard work, but I definitely enjoyed it.

3:16

Speaker B You know, and you mentioned something, you know. non-brand clothes best different story for you now the bougie botanist is some people refer to you as and I love it true

3:26

Speaker A I am bougie you know a lot of people I just had this conversation somebody the other day I was like I was such a tomboy growing up because the girls were boring drama filled emotional roller coasters it was not my thing I ran from that I hung out with the guys because because they were just easy to get along with and they were fun and so I was very tomboyish until I went to college and then all of a sudden something

3:51

Speaker B You flourished.

3:52

Speaker A changed I realized that there was a lot more to boys than just hanging out on the farm or you know doing fun activities with the youth group and you know it was just there was a lot more to them I saw them in a different light

4:06

Speaker B Well,

4:06

Speaker A yeah

4:06

Speaker B true, true.

4:07

Speaker A so I started wearing makeup and took more attention and curated my clothes at that point that I didn't used to do and

4:16

Speaker B Started

4:17

Speaker A so well

4:17

Speaker B taking a bath every day instead of every week.

4:19

Speaker A no I still now you can ask my mom my hygiene was on point I took a bath maybe twice a day two three times a day kept my hands clean didn't matter how dirty they were I kept my hands clean I was very clean but I knew how to get dirty out out on the farm

4:35

Speaker B Out on the farm. So. Anyway, we have created Turf Talk, and why did we create Turf Talk for our listeners?

4:41

Speaker A Well, you and I have previous experience working in the podcasting world and the doors opened for you and I to take what we were already doing and expand that, which is how Turf Talk podcast has become what it's become today. Today's our first episode of this new. New season.

5:04

Speaker B That's right. And you know what an honor it is to release the first episode right before where are we going?

5:13

Speaker A I'm so excited because we are leaving to go to Fort Collins, Colorado this

5:20

Speaker B That's correct.

5:21

Speaker A weekend.

5:21

Speaker B Yeah.

5:22

Speaker A And it's going to be a whirlwind trip because we have a wedding we have to get back to. So we're leaving on Thursday and coming back on Saturday. So we're taking a red flight, a red eye flight out on Friday night

5:32

Speaker B Yeah.

5:32

Speaker A and

5:33

Speaker B So leaving late Thursday afternoon.

5:34

Speaker A then coming back. We'll be back into North Carolina early Saturday morning. But we're going to spend all day at Walker Mowers because it is their commemorative 200,000th. lawnmower being produced and

5:51

Speaker B Yep.

5:51

Speaker A because it's the 200,000th lawnmower being produced they opened up an ordering system for only 200 mowers that will have the commemorative signage on it the plaques that's on it after this lawnmower is produced and so and they're sold out all 200 are

6:11

Speaker B Oh,

6:11

Speaker A now gone

6:11

Speaker B so they

6:11

Speaker A yep

6:11

Speaker B did. I know you've been watching that.

6:13

Speaker A yep they're all gone you on.

6:14

Speaker B Wow.

6:15

Speaker A So we get to go to the celebration on Friday and get to interview several of the people there at Walker Mowers. We met Mr. Bob Walker last year and he invited us to come and we just had a conversation with him the other day on the phone and he's real excited about us coming and we're excited about being there.

6:33

Speaker B Yeah, yes. And like I said, we got to interview him at EquipExpo last year, and I think that probably needs to be maybe episode number two. Number two, so people can

6:42

Speaker A Absolutely.

6:42

Speaker B get a little bit excited about us going out to Walker Manufacturing this coming Friday. So that's going to be awesome. Some of you may or may not know, my dad bought the very first Walker mower in North Carolina. He bought it from Levon, which is a great, great friend of dad's and Mr. Walker's. So it's going to be an emotional trip. for me to see that because Mr. Walker talked about my dad. He remembers him. And so that had to have been back in 1981 or 1982 that dad purchased the very first 16 horsepower gas model. And I know a lot of people, you know, everybody's wanting that diesel mower now and it's one of the best mowers out there. It is the best striper that there is.

7:29

Speaker B And I'm all about bagging grass and I'm sure we'll talk more about that. More about that in episodes that we get into turfgrass physiology and stuff like that. But I'm really, really looking forward to that. But, you know, I love the fact that you and I. Can bring different perspectives on this green industry.

7:50

Speaker A Yeah, me too.

7:51

Speaker B I'm bringing all the technical side. You're bringing all the business ownership entrepreneur side of the house. And together, I think we just we just make a powerhouse husband and wife team. So you've got to keep me grounded because I would spend all the money and not not get the invoices collected or anything like that because. I love my toys that we get to play with, but you have to keep me in the books.

8:19

Speaker A I'm very much a... Well, I say I'm a realist. I'm very practical. I guess that's the best way to put it. I'm just very practical and I love the business side of everything. There's such a science to the business and I enjoy that.

8:35

Speaker B Yes.

8:35

Speaker A I really do. And I understand and know people. I believe that I do really well working with people. That part of me is what I bring to the table and which obviously will benefit our turf talk because I love to talk, obviously.

8:51

Speaker B We both do.

8:53

Speaker A We do. You and I, and I think that's one of the things that makes us a great team is because you and I have a chemistry together, not just because we're husband and wife, but we get along and we know how to converse with each other. You and I know how to talk.

9:07

Speaker B Yeah, that we do. Sometimes I may. i may talk too much uh but

9:13

Speaker A Well,

9:13

Speaker B but

9:13

Speaker A sometimes I talk too much.

9:15

Speaker B you know at least we're talking right the

9:17

Speaker A Yeah.

9:18

Speaker B problem start is when you're not communicating so

9:20

Speaker A Yeah,

9:20

Speaker B no

9:21

Speaker A I, you know, if somebody were to ask us if we have a weakness in our marriage, I think communication would not be a weakness in this marriage at all.

9:29

Speaker B we we

9:29

Speaker A Or

9:29

Speaker B talk

9:29

Speaker A in

9:29

Speaker B we talk

9:30

Speaker A our or in our business. It is not. It's not at all.

9:33

Speaker B yeah well true well you know some people may you know question you know we've always you know had the terminology boots on ground and we've always mentioned that even though you know this is a turf talk podcast but but boots on ground means a lot to us because we do get to visit places like walker We get to visit places like Rockingham, North Carolina the following weekend where we're going to be at the NHRA drag race. And who do we get to hang out with there at

10:03

Speaker A Well,

10:03

Speaker B the race?

10:03

Speaker A this is so exciting is because we get to be a part of the NHRA drag race in Rockingham. And I was told this weekend that this is their first drag race or first year back in Rockingham. him

10:18

Speaker B For

10:18

Speaker A after

10:18

Speaker B I don't know how many years.

10:19

Speaker A like 30 years

10:20

Speaker B Oh, wow.

10:20

Speaker A yeah it's

10:21

Speaker B Wow.

10:21

Speaker A been a long time and so they've reopened this drag strip for the NHRA I have to find out if this is going to be a continuous thing that's happening I believe it is just like the Wilkesboro racetrack is for NASCAR now that it's back open I love seeing older locations

10:40

Speaker B Tracks.

10:40

Speaker A being revitalized and renewed and that's exactly exactly what's happening in Rockingham.

10:45

Speaker B Yep,

10:45

Speaker A But specifically, you and I get to go and be a part and hang out with Skag.

10:51

Speaker B that's right. We get to hang out with the Skag boys. We get to hang out with the president and his wife. We're going to be guests at their hospitality tent, and that's going to be awesome. Thanks to Riddle Tractor, Riddle Farm Equipment, which is our local Walker dealer and Skag dealer. So, you know, my dad purchased many, many lawnmowers from those guys and so have, you know, Jennifer and I, but James Bottom, which was our sales rep there at Riddle Farm, got us hooked up with that, who is now left Riddle and working full time with Skag.

11:23

Speaker A Exactly, exactly. Well, so being a part of this basically gives us and our listeners a different look at the green industry and how. The equipment and partnerships can really work together and it's even bringing motorsport. sports into And it and

11:39

Speaker B to it. Yeah,

11:40

Speaker A part and partnering with the motorsport companies so this this is just a whole new facet that you and I get to be a part of and we're really excited that we've been invited to be a part of this

11:51

Speaker B that's true. And so we've got, you know, those two big events coming up. We've got Waterpalooza coming in Raleigh, which is going to be, I think, October 7th, I believe. which is put on by the Carolina's Irrigation Association where landscape contractors, irrigation contractors come together and get their continuing education. They always have a lot of great speakers. So Jennifer just double checked. It is October 7th. It's going to be at NC State's McKinnon Center, which we're both NC State fans. You know, we've got the youngest girl of ours down there at NC State. Um, and I think, uh, I think, I think you and I are going to get our PhDs there. We get these youngins out of school. We're going to move to Raleigh ourselves and get that PhD behind our name, but, uh,

12:40

Speaker B we got that coming up and what's right after that young lady.

12:43

Speaker A Well, after the waterpalooza, October is a very busy month for us. We are headed to Louisville, Kentucky for the well-known. own largely known equip expo that is happening October the 20th through the 23rd Eric

13:02

Speaker B Yeah.

13:02

Speaker A and I will be there we are not going to set up a booth this year that's not it's not something that's been in the priority for us this year instead of having a booth Eric and I are going to be walking around and networking and interviewing a bunch of friends that we that we have there at the Expo to bring on to our podcast.

13:23

Speaker B Yes.

13:23

Speaker A So we've got a lot going on. But the biggest part that Eric and I are excited about is the prayer breakfast that happens on Wednesday morning before the doors even open to the Equip Expo floors. It happens at Wednesday morning. I believe the doors open at, is it 7 and then it starts at 8? eight i don't i had that written down hang on just a second and i could tell you guys but

13:51

Speaker B Yeah.

13:52

Speaker A um it's a free breakfast held

13:54

Speaker B Good breakfast.

13:55

Speaker A held for everyone that comes is for free it's an amazing time for everybody that's in this industry that are believers that are faith faith-fueled people we come together and we get to fellowship and network together but we also get to hear a really famous yes

14:16

Speaker B Guest speaker.

14:17

Speaker A which I am really excited about because they just announced it just a few months ago and people are like oh really that's really who you're having but you need to tell tell everybody who's going to be speaking

14:29

Speaker B Well, I can't wait to hear it because I love hunting.

14:33

Speaker A and fishing and especially the duck hunting it's going to be mr willie robertson's that is going to be super exciting and you know we may have a table set up there you know lee withers did call about that so we do need to reach back out to lee and see about recording that speech that willie's going to give and we also need to reach out to mr scheffler so we need to have him here on the podcast

15:01

Speaker B Yeah, yeah. Well, we, you know, we already have those things in the works. It's just finalizing details.

15:05

Speaker A Yeah.

15:06

Speaker B So it's just reaching back out and making sure all the details are finalized and then we will let you guys know on the next podcast what the final.

15:15

Speaker A Schedule is.

15:16

Speaker B Yes, because we're still waiting on some things to be finalized. But back to the prayer breakfast, the doors open at 630.

15:23

Speaker A Okay,

15:23

Speaker B It I starts

15:23

Speaker A figured it was early.

15:24

Speaker B at

15:24

Speaker A Yes.

15:24

Speaker B 7 a.m. and it usually lasts until about. about 8 8 30 so it's well before the doors even open I think exhibitors get to go on the main floors open at 9 a.m but it's not open to the public I think at 12 and this is for the for the equip expo itself so

15:43

Speaker A Gotcha.

15:43

Speaker B for you guys that want to come to the prayer breakfast and you're worried about time overlapping no worries because it will end before you are even allowed to go on the trade show floors at the the EquipX folks. So if you are of like-minded faith and you're a faith-filled believer and you want to come and network with others, this is definitely your opportunity. It is sponsored by Trades for Christ. They're the ones that put this on.

16:10

Speaker A Yep.

16:10

Speaker B They have a whole advisory board that works together to make this possible. This year is the seventh annual prayer breakfast. So this has been going on for about seven years. and every year the crowds just keep getting bigger and bigger which is such a blessing to see and it's also an amazing thing to be a part of as a Christian myself. We do believe, and we're pretty certain that this year because Willie Robertson is going to be our speaker, that it's going to be the largest prayer breakfast that they've had.

16:39

Speaker A Had so far.

16:40

Speaker B So it is free. You do not have to pay for it. It is 100% free. And it is homestyle cooking. It is not fast food. It's not biscuits from Biscuitville or Bojangles. It is truly fresh cooked eggs and scrambled eggs and bacon and sausage. and fruit and gravy everything you can think of is typically for breakfast is there and it is for free the doors open at 6 30 come get a seat be ready and prepared to listen to our amazing speaker Willie Robertson and you still have time to hit the trade show floors before they even open

17:14

Speaker A That's true. That's true. So that'll happen in October and then, you know, we get to take a little time off maybe in November, right? Right.

17:22

Speaker B Maybe.

17:23

Speaker A Okay.

17:23

Speaker B And I want to go back to the prayer breakfast real quick. It's going to be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

17:28

Speaker A If anybody wants to know the location, it's the Crown Plaza Hotel. It literally is right across the road from the expo. You can't miss it.

17:35

Speaker B That's

17:35

Speaker A So right

17:35

Speaker B true.

17:35

Speaker A across the road from the main entrance of the expo is the Crown Plaza Hotel. And again, it is free.

17:42

Speaker B Yeah, and another thing that's going to happen right after Christmas is going to be the Green and Grow in 27. So we did that last year. Absolutely had a blast there. You and I were there for a full week. week. We broadcast the three days of education and then the two days of the trade show floor at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. And to me, that was just so much fun. Like I love Expo and I love all these other places, but Green and Grow and we had a blast.

18:10

Speaker A I know why we had a blast because we were with hometown people.

18:14

Speaker B We were with North Carolinians.

18:17

Speaker A Yes,

18:17

Speaker B Yeah.

18:17

Speaker A right here in North Carolina. It is the largest. landscape

18:21

Speaker B Yeah.

18:22

Speaker A and nursery show in North Carolina.

18:24

Speaker B Yeah.

18:24

Speaker A So Eric and I were proud to be a part of that last year. We were also emcees for both days for the luncheon, the speaker and

18:36

Speaker B Yeah.

18:37

Speaker A the luncheon.

18:37

Speaker B We got to introduce

18:37

Speaker A Yeah.

18:37

Speaker B the guest. The yeah.

18:39

Speaker A Guest speakers. Yep.

18:40

Speaker B So we got to enter introduce them and and then hang out with everybody and a lot of a lot of the people that were there are turf teacher university. diversity clients.

18:49

Speaker A Yeah, yeah.

18:49

Speaker B So it was. It's kind of like a reunion for us.

18:53

Speaker A It

18:53

Speaker B So, yeah.

18:53

Speaker A was, and I'm looking forward to being a part of it again this year. I think last year has such a great response because they made some changes within the Green and Growing event. And I think it got everybody got a sense of renewal. I think it increased everybody's desire to want to be back again this year. So I'm really excited. And I do want to say this. I'm going to put in a little shameful plug here or shameless plug, I guess I should say. My husband, the turf teacher, is speaking again this year at Green and Growing. But even just as exciting is his brother gets

19:31

Speaker B Yeah,

19:31

Speaker A to speak this year at Green

19:33

Speaker B sure.

19:33

Speaker A and Growing. So it is no longer just an Eric event. It is now a Brint and Eric event, which I think is so cool and exciting that you and your brother get to speak. at Green and Grow this year make it a family thing so

19:44

Speaker B Yeah.

19:44

Speaker A that's

19:45

Speaker B And I

19:45

Speaker A exciting

19:45

Speaker B think we're like, there's like one speaker in between us. We're both on the same day in the same room, but there's one speaker in between us.

19:52

Speaker A yeah

19:52

Speaker B So that's,

19:52

Speaker A I'm excited to see this happen

19:54

Speaker B yeah,

19:54

Speaker A I think this is going to be cool to watch you and your brother you

19:57

Speaker B make

19:58

Speaker A know

19:58

Speaker B it.

19:58

Speaker A display your your wisdom

20:01

Speaker B Yeah. Cause he grew up in the green industry just like me. He took a different, you know, path in college, you know, studying computer science where I studied landscape art. landscape architecture but he he knows him he knows as much about farming and landscaping as i do because we had we had one of the best teaching us growing up so yeah

20:18

Speaker A Yeah, you did.

20:19

Speaker B but you know possibly south carolina green right

20:23

Speaker A For that, but all kinds of stuff. And guys, you're going to hear more about that here on Turf Talk where Jennifer and I are going to be, but a lot of cool things happening for

20:33

Speaker B You

20:33

Speaker A us.

20:33

Speaker B know what I want to tell everybody, follow along, follow us on our social media, follow us on our podcast website, keep in touch, follow behind so that way you can keep up with where we're going to be because let me tell you. Hey, Eric and I, we're just getting started.

All of our usernames is Turf Talk now. Our website is turftalkpodcast.com. 21:32

Speaker B Well, you know, I kind of... I kind of took a little bit of, I gleaned some business idea,

21:41

Speaker A Attire and yes.

21:42

Speaker B attire, you know, just some things that Dolly Parton did in her business. And we all know Dolly Parton just passed away a couple weeks ago and she definitely was someone that I paid attention to and followed in music because, you know, music is my world basically.

22:00

Speaker A Yes.

22:00

Speaker B Everything I've done was music. So, Dolly Parton was definitely, I don't want to call her an idol because God says we're not to have any idols above him, but Dolly Parton was definitely someone that I looked to and appreciated in country

22:15

Speaker A And just admire,

22:15

Speaker B music,

22:16

Speaker A yeah.

22:16

Speaker B yeah, in the country music world. And so, I love my little logo. I feel like I'm kind of taking some notes from Dolly Parton and just using, you know. No, being proud of myself and being proud of the fact that I enjoy being a woman and, you know, and I'm a woman in the green industry.

22:36

Speaker A Yeah.

22:36

Speaker B And I think it's a huge thing for women to step up in this industry

22:40

Speaker A Oh,

22:40

Speaker B because

22:41

Speaker A yes. A hundred

22:41

Speaker B we

22:41

Speaker A percent.

22:41

Speaker B are needed.

22:42

Speaker A Yes.

22:43

Speaker B It's not it is very much a male dominated industry, but there are more and more women that are coming up and moving forward in this industry. And. And I love taking the lead here at Turf Talk podcast and, of course, taking the lead at Turf Teacher University. So

23:00

Speaker A That's true.

23:00

Speaker B I love it.

23:02

Speaker A And everywhere we go, we always run out of the Turfette stickers and there's usually a stack of turf teacher ones left. So we know they want yours. But let's speak a little bit about Turf Teacher University and where that is going. Mr. Surfeit.

23:18

Speaker B Well, Turf Teacher University is all about keeping on with keeping on learning. Um, it's, you know, turf teacher university is definitely your heart. It's a business that you started, um, several years ago. You saw a need in this industry specifically here in North Carolina. There was a big need for continuing ed, um, that needed to take place for anyone who needed to renew any of their licensures held in the green industry here in North Carolina because you were, you yourself were struggling. to find yeah

23:52

Speaker C My own classes, yeah.

23:54

Speaker B yeah so out of the problem came yes

23:58

Speaker C The solution.

23:59

Speaker B and the solution is now turf teacher university it was known turf teacher and everybody knows it as turf teacher but we have kind of rebranded because we are going to be expanding more of turf teacher university outside of north carolina and in order for that to be more synonymous outside of North Carolina, we're going to call it Turf Teacher University because it is a educational platform.

24:24

Speaker C Yes, 100%. We offer online continuing education where you guys can take your courses day or night, anytime, 24-7 for both landscape and irrigation. We also offer every other week online webinars where you can get pesticide credits, landscape credits, irrigation credits, landscape architect credits. But what I'm excited about is really pushing the pesticide education into

24:49

Speaker B Mm-hmm.

24:50

Speaker C multiple, multiple states. So, you know, every state in the United States has a pesticide licensing program. So we're going to get in as many of these states as we can. We've already got approved for most of the states in the southeastern United States. It's just getting the courses to them and advertising for it. So definitely. Definitely looking forward to that. And I do want to put in a little push for turf sites that we have had a lot of input with the developer for a software program that's going to, I think. Set the industry standard because you and I have used multiple landscape programs in our own landscape business and really neither one could fit every single need that we needed it to need.

25:44

Speaker C So we've kind of worked with the developer to. combat that and

25:49

Speaker B Yeah.

25:49

Speaker C so but the one thing that i'm really looking forward is about the plant identification weed identification and the pesticide calculations that this this software program but again we'll talk more about that a little bit later and actually get you some stuff

26:05

Speaker B Well, and I also wanted to be a little bit more detailed for anybody who has not heard of Turf Teacher University.

26:12

Speaker A The Turf Teacher University is a platform for Con Ed, which is Continuing Education. We are giving Continuing Education opportunities. We have upcoming classes, webinars, which Eric does very well with the webinars. Great attendance, great material, great content. He holds those usually on Tuesday nights. It's an hour webinar most of the time. It's for landscape or pesticide credits, but he offers the weekly webinars during the highest point of the season, which is usually in the summer, and then we hold in-person seminars.

26:50

Speaker B Yep.

26:51

Speaker A The seminars are great because there are all-day seminars where you can get all of your credits that are needed for you to get in order to renew your license. So a lot of guys... don't want to piecemeal their licensure credits they like to come to one seminar and they can bang it all out in one day so we do hold in-person seminars all we also hold online seminars is basically at your own pace it's kind of an on-demand seminar you just go in and pick the classes you want to take get all your credits and then we get those turned into the board and of course any licensing information and And any practical green industry education will have that on the website. I also want to put a plug in real quick.

27:34

Speaker A We are in the process of updating the Turf Teacher website. So next year, guys, we won't have as many interruptions as we had this year with the website because we're upgrading servers and we're upgrading the website. So we're excited about what's to come with the new Turf Teacher website.

27:53

Speaker C That's true. That's true. It was. And, you know, it was a good problem to have because we had so many people on the website

28:01

Speaker A Yeah.

28:01

Speaker C at one time that it was kind of crashing, but we're having to update the servers, which we're putting a lot of money and time and effort into that. So, but it'll be a seamless transition for you guys. So, I love it. I can't wait for all of this stuff to get happening. But, you know, I want to hear from these guys and gals. gals that are listening to us. How can they get in touch with us?

28:24

Speaker A Well, they can get in touch with us through several ways through email. through our cell phones, through our social media pages, but

28:34

Speaker C yeah it's

28:35

Speaker A most importantly, if you need to get in touch with Eric or I, the easiest way to get to us is turftalkpodcast.com. It has all

28:44

Speaker C true yeah

28:44

Speaker A of our contact information there on the website.

28:48

Speaker C and you can actually you can i think didn't jared get it set up where they can message us and all that stuff

28:53

Speaker A Yes,

28:53

Speaker C through it

28:53

Speaker A yeah.

28:53

Speaker C so

28:54

Speaker A Even something that we're going to talk about here in just a minute, we're going to be doing some some live podcasting, video podcasting, where there's actually a chat session available for that. So you can live chat with us on our website during a live podcast and we'll talk more about that in a minute but turf talk The way that Eric and I envisioned this Turf Talk, we did not want it to be a one-way conversation. We want this to be a two-way conversation where we include our audience. So Turf Talk is definitely something that we're looking at in the sense that we don't want it to be a one-way conversation. We want to include our listeners. So yes, go to turftalkpodcast.com, has all of our contact information.

29:39

Speaker A Like I said, that's a one-stop shop right there. Go to turf talk podcast.com. If you are already friends with us on Facebook and Instagram and TikTok, you have other ways to get in contact with us as well.

29:51

Speaker B True, true. So easy enough. We're making it easy for you guys. I know sometimes it gets hard for me to get caught up on some of the messages, but we're taking that in control.

30:04

Speaker A Well, so you say if it's going to be a two way conversation, what should we talk about? Well, I'm going to give you some ideas because we want to hear from these

30:12

Speaker B Yes,

30:12

Speaker A guys.

30:12

Speaker B yes.

30:13

Speaker A If you have a question, simply shoot it over to us. If you have a controversial because these are kind of fun. If there's controversy, a lot of people like that in the green industry.

30:24

Speaker B Can I give examples of those?

30:25

Speaker A Yeah,

30:25

Speaker B Should

30:25

Speaker A yeah,

30:26

Speaker B we bag grass or not bag grass?

30:28

Speaker A exactly,

30:28

Speaker B You know, that's.

30:29

Speaker A exactly. Exactly.

30:30

Speaker B Should we use electric shears or should we do hand pruning? Remove the wire

30:35

Speaker A opinion in this industry.

30:38

Speaker B basket.

30:38

Speaker A We would love to hear from you. We would love to talk about it. Have you seen a new product that you think Eric and I need to try? Let us know. If you know somebody that you think we should interview, shoot

30:50

Speaker B Oh, heck yeah.

30:51

Speaker A that over.

30:51

Speaker B Yes.

30:52

Speaker A Let us know because we are looking for people to interview. Yes, do we have a list of people already? already of course we do but we want fresh content all the time so new people new interviews and one other thing that I love that I want to push this out there would you like Eric and I to come visit your company we

31:12

Speaker B Yes.

31:12

Speaker A would love come visit give give us a tour of your facilities give us a tour of your company you know what we could even kind of follow in the footsteps of micro with with with dirty jobs if you would love for us to come out and follow you and your crew for a day we

31:26

Speaker B Yes, that's

31:27

Speaker A would love to do that we would like to see how these guys are making it happen when you talk about true boots on ground you want us to come visit your company and hang out with you guys for the day we would love to come visit and hang out

31:40

Speaker B true. And it doesn't necessarily have to be a landscape contractor. You can be a vendor, you could be a supplier, somebody selling mowers, tractors, whatever. Whatever it is. So across the board, we can do the site visits.

31:52

Speaker A Exactly. So anybody that wants to be a guest, if you want to be a vendor or us be a part of your vendoring, if you're a manufacturer, if you are. part of the sponsorship, we are looking for interesting people and companies throughout the green industry. So if you've got a story, a product, if you have great technology, a company or an idea that you think that we should share to the green industry professionals that should know about it, we want to hear from you.

32:21

Speaker B Exactly. We can do podcast interviews, guys. We can interview at any trade show. We can feature your products. We can do field demonstrations. We can feature you in our newsletters and we can develop educational content because that goes back to Turf Teacher University.

32:36

Speaker A Mm-hmm.

32:37

Speaker B I've been in the Christmas lighting business since 1998, you know, other than the times Uncle Sam kept me deployed at that time, but my parents started. in 1998 with holiday lighting and so many people have asked us to come teach how to do holiday lights so anyway they need to follow us on our journey don't

32:57

Speaker A They

32:57

Speaker B they that's

32:57

Speaker A do. So like I said, go to turftalkpodcast.com, go to all of our social media platforms. You have several ways of getting in touch with us.

33:07

33:16
